(FYI: Edits and improvements are made often, so always upon entering the URL/Link. Please use the refresh key to make sure you are seeing the updated site: Windows = CTRL + SHIFT + R -OR- MAC = COMMAND + SHIFT + R)
Right at the top of the page you will find the Welcome message Telling what to start with.
Fill in your name (Gibson Family Canning Tracker) or whatever you want to name it.
don't forget to hit that SAVE button
Now your page will look something like this.
Note: if you don't like it, you can Rename it.
Next, we are going to walk through each button. Starting with HARVEST.
Click on the Log Harvest button. This is where you will enter (last year's harvest, or if the timing is right, this year's harvest. Skip this step if you don't want to do that yet. But here is what it will look like when you do.
Upon entering some information it will show you this page: PRODUCE: Choose from the Drop down menu, or choose OTHER in that menu: In Variety is where you can NAME the Produce more thoroughly. DATE PICKED, Choose from the Calendar, YIELD then UNIT, How many of that produce did you collect? Prep notes. can be skipped
Example: I added some info, added prep notes then hit "Save Harvest" button (in Red)
This is what it looks like after hitting Save Harvest.
Repeat as needed for each Produce type.
Next step. Click on Canning, click on Log a Batch
Enter your information: Example: I logged in a batch of Tomato Sauce.
Name your item, choose a TYPE from the drop-down menu (you can choose other), choose DATE PROCESSED, choose NUMBER OF JARS, JAR SIZES from the drop-down menu, METHOD of canning, PROCESSING TIME (MIN), HEADSPACE, RECIPE/SOURCE if any, and CUSTOM EXPIRY DATE. Then fill in the notes, if any. Then click save.
Next up:
Add pantry item ( Then we move on to FREEZER in this same section, and then SUPPLIES )
This is what I put in... You guessed it. Cans of tomato sauce.
Side NOTE: You can Save as CSV/pdf now or wait until you are done with all entries.
it will save as canning-tracker.csv / your-Tracker-name-you-chose---inventory-canning-tracker.pdf
see image below: when saving as PDF, you can choose which sections you want to save.
Now let's click on
Add freezer item
Now clicking on PANTRY: SUPPLIES
Note the new buttons: Quick-add and Shopping list. We will cover those next.
But first, let's click on that ADD ITEM button first.
OPTIONS: SUPPLY NAME, CATEGORY, QTY ON HAND, UNIT, UNIT SIZE, ALERT WHEN BELOW, AND NOTES (BRANDS, WHERE TO BUY, ETC.)
Once again. Don't forget to hit that Save Supply button. (Just and FYI, this only saves it to BROWSER memory - it does not save to your computer. To do this, you will need to click on PANTRY, and again on the smaller PANTRY button: Save CSV or PDF) We will have a save button installed at the top of the app real soon. You can also download the PDF from the REVIEW button.
Before we move on to the other buttons next to Harvest | Canning | Pantry...(Review / AI help) We are going to stay right here in SUPPLIES (under PANTRY) and use the Quick-add button and show the shopping list. I will add something that needs to be purchased soon, just so it will show up.
This has an extensive list of items ready to add. Scroll to the bottom, and you will see an "Add your item" box. In case we missed something.
What I added
I tapped on the Add selected. And this is what it shows me now, I can adjust from here how many I actually have. AS WELL AS, (click on the little pencil icon to edit details) I will leave DILL SEED at 0 to see if it adds it to the Shopping list.
Now as you can see. On the SUPPLIES button it is showing me = 1 LOW
Let's click on that SHOPPING LIST button now.
Now we will click on Review to show you that.
From here, we see everything we have added to the Inventory Tracker.
We can download the PDF (reminder that you click: PANTRY: PANTRY: Download Csv so you can upload it back into the tracker in case you delete browser history)
We see which season we are looking at (if you have multiple seasons)
Plus, we have an ADD Next Season Goal button. Let's test that out.
ADD next season Goal
I just put in MORE TOMATOs
Save that Goal
I tapped on the question: Is it safe to water bath can butternut squash?
